TEA is a member of IATEFL (International Association of Teacher of English as a Foreign Language) and works in association with the following English language teachers' associations in neighbouring countries:

Croatian Association of Teachers of English
International Teachers of a Foreign Language - Hungary

These connections between English teacher associations enable an exchange of the latest and newest developments in the English language teaching field.

Trainers interested in more information, whether they are involved in primary, secondary, college and university or teaching company seminars should contact us or check our links to these organisations.  Our partners (click here to see who they are) enable us to offer our members many benefits, including discounts on English books, English theatre performances, English language events as well as workshops, seminars, summer schools and conferences held in the English language and in our region.  Primary or elementary school teachers (Volksschulen) can find special information in our ELT News giving them tips on creative and fun ways to bring English to the classroom. Our committee members (click here for more about us), are dedicated, enthusiastic professionals in the ELT sector who are eager to assist TEA members in finding or creating the best workshops and seminars disseminating the newest developments in English language training. We also are here to help teachers and teacher trainers of English language teaching in Austria through electronic means via our website and our newsletter and by publishing our bi-annual magazine ELT News.

Our last conference in April 2012 in Salzburg, was a great opportunity for teachers from all types of schools and freelancers to come together to find out more about different possibilities of teaching English in the classroom. Whether the teachers were interested in specifics such as Legal English, or how to tell a story, there was something for everyone. There were also many opportunities for networking, meeting and discussing with colleagues from different regions and school types the problems and solutions that occur within the language teaching field. TEA is planning a 2013 Summer School and another Conference in 2014, so keep checking our News page for updates. Should you have any questions, check our FAQ section to see if they have the right answer for you.  If not, please contact us at  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
