Augusta is a British national living in Austria since September 2010. She has worked as Academic Consultant for Cactus Worldwide, and as its Academic Director for North America and was a language instructor at the UN in New York. She was also a Senior Teacher and Marketing and Customer Care Manager of the British Council in Mexico City, Mexico and has also taught in Russia, Japan and Macedonia. She has an MA and BA(Hons) and a certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) and a DELTA qualification as well as an Interactive Marketing Award. She is proficient in Spanish and French with intermediate Japanese and Russian and is learning German. She is enthusiastic and energetic and has jumped into the TEA Chair position with all of these skills. Dr. Otto Weihs has been with IMC FH Krems since 1998. He also was the owner/director of a language school in Vienna (International House Vienna) and university assistant at University of Vienna as well as lecturer at the WU Wien. He has worked in teacher training, has been a consultant for EC projects as well as conducted seminars for the VHS, BFI, WIFI, SPIDI. He has also been a speaker at IATEFL conferences as well as other venues. He has worked for FH Modul, ITM Semmering, Hueber Verlag, International House World Organisation, and BAZ. In 2001 he founded the company: Dr.Weihs-Bildungsberatung. At present he is the Head of English at FH IMC Krems. He is the proud father of two daughters and has been married for more than 20 years. Debbie came to Austria in 1985 as a Rotary Fellow, to study Art Song and Oratorio at the Conservatory of the City of Vienna. She has been a teacher of English to adult speakers of other languages since 1990 and is a qualified Superlearning trainer. Debbie has taught at the WU Wien, at the University of Applied Science for International Business Relations in Eisenstadt and conducts in-house seminars for many Austrian companies, including the Austrian Central National Bank and the Vienna Insurance Group. She leads teacher-training seminars for the Pedagogical Colleges of all the provinces of Austria. Debbie is intensively involved with the Cambridge examinations in English for Speakers of Other Lanaguages as an oral examiner since 1995, and as team leader and seminar presenter since 2001. Anne Storey’s career in the Vienna-based United Nations Industrial Development Organization focused on English language legislative reports and communications. Thirty years of improving texts written by non-native speakers, and recent teaching experience with Austrian businesspeople, inspired her to develop a focus on improving selected common mistakes of German speakers. A US national, Anne coordinates the native speaker English teaching assistant programme within TEA. She teaches in Vienna and Upper Austria, where she also conducts training seminars in English communication. Dr. Detlef Schaffer has had a long career in the English teaching field and although retired, continues to teach in various schools of higher education. He has his own company, Schaffer & Schaffer. He was also a Superintendent for Austrian Grammar Schools (AHS) in Lower Austria with a special emphasis on English teaching and has taught at the ITM College Semmering and Krems and does various seminars in the fields of conflict management, communication and leadership, time and self-management as well as instruction in English and German. Silvia Jindra works in in-service training at the University of Education in Vienna where she is responsible for English teachers' in-service training, programmes to promote the European and international dimension in schools and in-service training to develop intercultural competence for secondary teachers. She is also a trainer herself in the "Ausbildung" section of the institute. She runs courses for students who would like to become Secondary Modern teachers. In addition, she promotes European lifelong learning programmes (COMENIUS, eTwinning). |
